Job Description

We partner with employers to support working families when regular childcare arrangements fall through. Our caregivers help children feel safe and supported while giving parents confidence during busy or unexpected days.

We are currently seeking dependable Backup Care Specialists who are available 2–3 days per week and can provide flexible support as family requests arise. This role may also help provide backup coverage when lead caregivers are unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate childcare
  • Create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children
  • Support daily routines, meals, and activities
  • Communicate professionally with families and the Star Harbor team
  • Step in to support families when care needs arise
  • Provide backup coverage when needed
  • Represent Star Harbor with professionalism and care

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous childcare experience required (private nanny, daycare, preschool, teaching, etc.)
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Flexible schedule availability
  • Warm, calm, and adaptable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in different family environments
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Schedule

2–3 days of weekly availability preferred
